Pompeii is a ruined and partially buried Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania. Pompeii was destroyed, and completely buried, during a long catastrophic eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius spanning two days in AD 79.

Excellent capture wonderful effects. to this Angie,My grandfather was in the bay of Naples in 1907,when mount Etna erupted, he was in the Royal Navy,he voluntered to many the long boats to rescue tyhe Islanders,and was presented with the crew with a Silver medal specially struck for their bravery.

Brilliant! I’m living in southern Italy (it’s my last week here!) and spent the day in Pompeii. It’s quite profound to be there and feel that life was flowing without expectation of death and in a quick moment…within a day…all was gone and buried.
