Pencil: I’m sorry
Eraser: For what? You didn’t do anything wrong.
Pencil: I’m sorry cos you get hurt bcos of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you’re always there to erase it. But as you make my mistakes vanish, you lose a part of yourself. You get smaller and smaller each time.
Eraser: That’s true. But I don’t really mind. You see, I was made to do this. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though one day, I know I’ll be gone and you’ll replace me with a new one, I’m actually happy with my job. So please, stop worrying. I hate seeing you sad. :)
Its an integral part in all mammals, and most of life on earth, its found in our Red Blood Cells – in Haemoglobin molecules to be exact, without Iron our blood wouldn’t be able to ferry Oxygen around in our bodies.
So where does Iron come from? … the stars themselves! formed in the final step of nucleosynthesis, by silicon fusing in massive stars!! !
In 1996, astronomers undertook something extraordinary. They pointed the Hubble Space Telescope into a part of the sky that seemed utterly empty, The patch of sky was no bigger than a grain of sand held out at arms length.
They found over 3,000 new galaxies. It is currently estimated that there are over 100 billion galaxies in the universe.
I can not put this in perspective, but I will tell you what I tell my students:
