This mule lives with a group of farm mules and horses west of Victor, Montana USA in a very large, grassy pasture. They all have such personality and relationships. A few of them are teams and stick together even while loafing in the pasture. I love visiting them whenever I pass by on this country road.
You think about all the mining and farming the mules have done and how life would have been difficult without their contribution! Wonderful capture Merle! ~Sam
You are so right. This is a fairly large group of working mules and horses. I don’t know the owner, but he/she isn’t wealthy (at least the truck is old and rusted) but takes excellent care of them. I see them trailored away during summer and fall so I know they work. Many of them are “teams or pairs” as in evident of their similar size, etc and that they “hang out” together. It is really fun to see watch them as I often drive by the pasture on the way to my hikes.

I need to spell check before I add my replies, but you get the drift.
