These were members of a wild Chacma baboon troop in Soutpansberg Mountains, Limpopo Province, South Africa. I studied this troop’s behaviour for six months and witnessed how gentle adult males can be towards their offspring.
Oh wow lovely shot. They have such long faces! Remind me of the statues on Easter Island. How come you were studying them?
I was working in the Soutpansberg Mt., South Africa on the troop. The research was with reference to group dynamics and social interactions within primate. Along with others I habituated the troops and collected observational data. It was a truly amazing experience to be up close and personal with these animals.
