Dhikr, translated as “remembering God” is something Muslims do often. God says in the Qur’ān: “Indeed in the remembrance of God do hearts find tranquility.” These beads become the spiritual wayfarer’s best friend and reflect the journey – the beginning is clear, the end is hard to see, and one continues on endlessly.
