Ever since I was a little boy, John Lennon’s music spoke directly to my heart. His outspoken passionate soul gave me hope in a world that would have been much darker had he not been in it. His message of peace and love was an inspiration and a catalyst for so many musicians, artists, and peace-loving people all over the world; and Lennon, like no other, was the model for everything I hoped to be both as a human being and as an artist. He was who first inspired me to pick up a guitar, be a peace activist, and to become a feminist. His influence is as important to me today, and hopefully the world, as it was 35 years ago. May that influence grow stronger and stronger everyday, because it is sorely needed. John Lennon will always be alive in my heart.
