Harmony [Original Prose]

Each person has a melody inside of him.
For some it is a light, lifting air in his heart,
for others a loud, resounding symphony
echoing through his limbs and head.

The melody is created by his tears,
his smiles, his moans, his laughs,
and it makes him who he is.

Each person has a melody inside of him.
Each is different,
Unique in its tones and colors.

Yet a song, any song, can be learned
and sung by another.
If one is willing to try.

Music is the universal language,
so why it is so hard
for each of us to stop, listen, learn
and sing together?

Artist's Description

I wrote this in the early 1970s, I guess you would call it the Flower Power or Hippie generation time. I was in college and feeling very focused on peace and love. I like it now for different reasons – I believe it is still true now and sometimes I am surprised by the poetry I wrote back then – that it came from me… LOL. hope you like it and it touches you.
