Artist's Description

I actually only found this photo tonight when looking through some old discs that have old photos on them – I forgot I had taken it. This was taken 8 months after 9-11-2001. I was standing in the parking lot of the Old Train Station in Jersey City which is part of Liberty State Park. RIGHT across the river is where the Twin Towers used to stand. This day was the first day I had a chance to stand where I had stood before and seen the towers, and of course on this day they were gone. I remember being amazed at the sky full of such fluffy clouds and layers of white, and it gave me a hopeful feeling instead of a sad one. Changing skies over NYC to give us hope instead of sorrow, to bring us belief in a better tomorrow.

This was not taken with a fancy camera and is not as clear as my current photos. But I think the image is still a powerful one.

The buildings in the center were the buildings that were at the base of the towers. NOW today the Freedom Tower is being built there. I actually was there again near this very spot the end of June 2012 and saw the progress of the Freedom Tower. below is a copy of that shot so you can compare with the photo above and see where the Freedom Tower is sprouting up.
