Pixie with Goose In the Garden, Skylands Manor by

Skylands Manor is an interesting mansion that is part of Ringwood State Park. The front half of Skylands is a castle, the back is a tudor and Elizabethan type manor. The grounds are the NJ Botanical Gardens and the original owner of the manor loved cherubs, pixies, fairies and other imps, so that you will find these type statues all over the grounds in the gardens. This particular one photographed here is called the Goose Boy or the Goose Pixie. For a little fun I added a few butterflies that the boy is looking up at above his head, and added a mirrored frame to make it more mystical, just for fun. This is mainly for a pixie challenge but also it is a cute statue that I do like obviously since I photographed it.

My name is Jane. I am an artist, writer, photographer, and an admirer of the arts. Here on RB I share my photography, writing, collages and art, and host many groups. I hope you enjoy my work.

    Changed your icon I see

  • yes, I changed my avatar photo twice. first to a photo my daughter took of me – but I never like the way I look. so I went back to the one with me and camera. that way no one sees my face, they only see my hair, which is the one thing I do like about me, LOL. and thanks for enjoying my little pixie boy statue – I always think he is so cute when I visit there.
