Clouds So Low They Almost Touch The Beach, Island Beach NJ by

taken in August 2005

it may be a beautiful day, but don’t be deceived. NO ONE could go swimming – the waves and rip tide were extreme. this was the week of Hurricaine Katrina, and although it looks lovely here, those beautiful clouds were the beginning of the storm coming. I tried to get the photo to show how LOW and heavy the clouds were – they were beautiful but it was surreal the way they dipped down to the earth.

I am praying that this summer, 2013, the Jersey shore will look this peaceful and people will be able to vacation and enjoy the shore after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy in October/November 2012.

    Pretty day indeed Jane! Nice!

  • yes Sam it was, and it was alarmingly peaceful – I guess the calm before the storm. the ocean was rough but the sky was so bright blue, yet the clouds were so intense and low. as I said in the description this was just before Katrina hit.
