Ocean Grove’s home webpage says “discover a place where time has taken a vacation” Ocean Grove is one of my very favorite places to visit, ever since I was a child. My parents brought my sisters and I to Ocean Grove a few times every summer. I always dream of living here someday where the ocean breezes and the sandy beach are so calming. Something happens to me when I am there – I feel more in touch with myself and with God. Just something about the sound of the waves, the smell of the salt water and the breezes off the ocean.
I took this photo on a visit in 2004 and I have always been amazed by it – I think it looks like a watercolor painting. What do you think? Wouldn’t you just love to stroll down this beach???
Besides the beautiful beach, the boardwalk and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean, Ocean Grove has the highest concentration of authentic Victorian architecture in the country. Ocean Grove now holds events year round to celebrate the uniqueness of this Victorian town, such as The Victorian House Tour in December, Chocolate Lovers Weekend in February, and the Garden State Film Festival in April. A stroll along Main Avenue anytime of the year is a rich reminder of Victorian life with its many quaint gift shops and antique stores.
