Blue herons are such majestic and wonderful birds. I went the first 50 years of my life never seeing or noticing one. Then in most recent years they suddenly seem to be popping up at the most unexpected places in New Jersey. This blue heron seems to like Grover Cleveland Park, which is in Caldwell and Essex Fells, NJ. He has shown up the past few years and stays the summer to mid fall. He is not afraid of people and that is how I was able to get such marvelous photos of him. However, after too many photos, he does get weary and will fly across the pond to get away from the camera. This was taken in the fall of 2010.
