St Nick's House, Little Falls, NJ by

Placed third in the top ten, If It Doesn’t Fit Group, Christmas Challenge, 25-Dec-11

Each year on Williams Street, this house is decorated to the hilt. a gorgeous and amazing light display. the garage has train sets, animated dolls and a mantel and chair for St Nick himself to sit and see children. Every year we go to take photos of the beautiful lights, as they always change a little each year. Christmas lights are definitely one of my favorite things about this season!

My name is Jane. I am an artist, writer, photographer, and an admirer of the arts. Here on RB I share my photography, writing, collages and art, and host many groups. I hope you enjoy my work.

wow this is amazing.. we had a house like that here, it too was an awesome sight such as this

  • yes, unfortunately they did not do it this year and it was because our area got flooded so badly in the spring and then with Hurricaine Irene. The neighborhood he lives in was flooded I believe 4 times and the last time I drove past his house in December 2011 he did not have any lights up and everything from his home was in bins in his garage. You could see they were redoing the inside of the house. very sad. I hope he will be able to do it again for December 2012. thanks for taking a look at my photo and commenting. I appreciate it.

    beautiful work :) xxx

  • thanks Denise. I am glad I got several years of their lights because in 2010 they flooded 4 times and I doubt they will be decorating anymore as they lost everything. They did not decorate last year and I think it is the first time in about 24 years…

Ooh that electricity bill! Amazing sight that must be

  • it is an amazing sight, I hope they have it this year. they flooded so bad with Hurricane Irene last year they did not have it last year for the first time in 35 years – so I am unsure about this year.

  • actually – I asked the owner about the electric bill, and he said they do this CHristmas display instead of going on vacation, so I guess that answers that question….

USA … what can you say … It is at the same time impressive and nice, but also crazy :D Nice capture!

  • I know the owner said he spends so much money on electricity for the lights that they do this instead of take a vacation. You probably would not believe all the houses decorated at Christmas – I think they are marvelous and beautiful! smiles – thanks for looking.
