Every year our town’s fire department has Santa visit every neighborhood on the last Saturday before Christmas. He sits in a little cart that is pulled by the big fire truck, sometimes accompanied by an elf or two, sometimes accompanied by a fireman. My youngest daughter is now 19 and is autistic, so Santa is still very real and exciting to her. In 2007 I took this photo when we ran out to see him. We heard the sirens and my middle daughter called to say Santa was coming. We ran outside and saw him stopped visiting the baby across the street. I asked them if they could wait for me to get my youngest daughter who was inside. She was 15 at the time and she does not like to leave her room and computer for anything. However when she heard it was Santa, she came willingly with me. We came out and Santa did not show surprise or shock at the 15 year old girl who came running up to him. He called her by her name and asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She was overjoyed. When looking at Christmas photos right now she came in and quickly pointed to this photo and said – LOOK, it’s the REAL Santa Mom. SO – this is my photo of the REAL Santa!!!!
