Imagine walking along in a dense woods, where there are only trees and trails and some large rocks, and then suddenly coming upon THIS. Ramapo Mountain State Forest is not in a populated area, however it did used to be Native American stomping ground. This however looks newer than that but obviously half built or half fallen down. One person said maybe it was a tree house of some kind, another person said it resembled a Survival Challenge Course. but why in the middle of nowhere? it is a mystery and I thought everyone would enjoy looking and speculating as well.
another fun tidbit. When my middle sister was little, about 7 or 8, she called old buildings and structures like this calapidated. She combined collapsed and dilapidated to form her own word calapidated. She had the whole family using it and we still will say when we pass a building that is both collapsing and dilapidated, calapidated.
