In my work, I explore the tension between the passive and the violent when it comes to depictions of the female form. I’m interested in whether we choose to challenge, reject, subvert, accept or submit to the forces that surround us- the power plays between nature and culture that push and pull us around.
I just love to paint, and usually what I deal with, is on an equal par to how I deal with it. The way the paint rips and drips across the canvas is endlessly fascinating to me.
