I’ve been very excited for Bambi’s Blu-Ray release this February and was very happy to recieve it as a present from my boyfriend a few days ago. Looking through all the gorgeous artwork and just appreciating it’s sheer beauty and storytelling, it’s easily my favourite Disney feature. I was particularly inspired by Chinese/American artist Tyrus Wong (now 100 years old and even shares my birthday, minus the year of course!). He painted the backgrounds and set the style and mood for the film from tiny pastel sketches. So this is my tribute to him and the masterpiece that is Bambi.
