My annual birthday artwork for a friend of mine. One of his favourite games for pretty much the past 2-3 years has been Rock Band, so this is my little tribute to it.

I originally had in mind a single musician on stage looking cool and awesome and rocking out in front of thousands of people, only to look closer to see they were only playing a Rock Band instrument, but sadly I was short on time and I knew the idea would take me down a more realistic rendering style. So instead I simplified the idea and created a four-person band in ‘silhouette’ as differently coloured lights shine down. It’s not as impressive, but—oh look! Pretty colours! :D

At the moment, I’m a little tired of working on fan art all the time, so I’m currently working on an original piece inspired by the lyrics of one of my favourite songs (that still counts, right? :P). It’s going to be very detailed and hopefully one of my most polished and richest works to date… but don’t hold me to that… I’ll be posting previews in my journal soon. :)
