We all have a sanctuary—somewhere we like to go when we want to be alone or just to think. This is Anaya’s sanctuary; a place where the sun is permanently setting and a light breeze catches the leaves… And we have rudely interrupted her!

This was something I started during college for my Final Major Project “Only In Dreams”, of my character Anaya. She was invented inside of a book by a young boy and is confined to its pages. But fortunately the boy’s imagination and drawings allows her to live inside any world she wishes, so she doesn’t see it as imprisonment… until he shows interest in another female!

Of course it was never finished over the course of two years until I picked it up again last night, so now it finally gets to see the light!

I apologise for the poor masonry work on the wall, I reworked the perspective so many times I was sick of correcting it (and is partly why it was unfinished for so long) and at some point you have to give up and declare unfinished work as “good enough” for now! But every brick and leaf is hand-painted so there’s bound to be “errors” along the way!
