Amanda Witt
Profile
I have several creative genes in me – I do lots of writing, mostly poetry on all sorts of things – nature features strongly in my writing -with the sunset, moon and rain being my three top triggers.
I have also begun to write prayer-poems, and this is very strong at this point in my life.
I make craft items from foam shapes and beads – I make presents each Easter and Christmas for my closest friends.
I usually have about 6 craft items on the go at any time.

Books and more books
Books, books, they’re everywhere! / On the desk, in my hair. / On the trolley and the floor / Then a delivery comes with more! / I can’t keep up with all the books / They’re in every…
Crack in the ground
To us, it’s just a crack in the ground. / A nuisance, that we might trip over. We go to any length to hide it in our gardens, so it doesn’t detract from the beauty. / But for thousands of …
The sea and Barrier Reef
The waves are gently lapping the shore, / It’s so peaceful that I just want more, / Where the water meets the sand, / And where couples walk hand in hand / This is where sideways crabs scuttle /…
Crining in the chapel
When you go to chapel, / Are you told to crine? / Do you always do it, / Or are reminded every time? Do you do it naturally, / Or must you be told? / And does your back hurt so much / That you feel…
Crining
I find it hard not to crine, / I should sit up straight. My spine / Should be straight, I should be tall / But I do not do it at all.
Fairy in a coffee cup
In every single coffee cup / That is made world wide / I began to wonder / If a fairy does reside. For how often have we all / Gone to take a sip, / And find nothing in there, / ‘cause a fair…
