A Londoner who studied art, specializing in theatre design, I left college and went straight into magazine illustration.
Then came a move to the Canary Islands (via Derbyshire and Alicante!) … a husband, children and a home (with far too many animals for my own good) in the middle of banana groves …
My paintings reflect my parallel lives: one in a sub-tropical island and the other in the relatively colder climes of England.
My influences are magpie-like: from local history, flora and fauna, patchwork, folk art, myths and books to Staffordshire pottery, Kahlo and Bloomsbury. And – of course – my favourite places and my cats.
I have participated in numerous group shows, have held several solo shows, both in England and Spain, and have works in many private and corporate collections as well as one public one, the Manchester City Art Gallery.
I am a member of the Association of British Naive Artists
