My daughter’s class had an excursion to Fremantle Prison so I volunteered to go as a parent helper.
This is the razor wire that surrounds the top of the walls in the outside exercise yard. The prison was closed down in 1991 and now opens for tours and functions.
Great shot Amanda, beautfiul in it’s simplicity, I have a couple of internal pics of freo prison but nothing as elegant as this..nice work
I was at the prison with two classes of year five kids, I was a parent helper. I would love to go back with some more time and less responsabilities to see what else is hidden there. Thanks for looking and commenting.
wow………. like its a story the fence would tell…… i agree , wickedly beautiful …. diamonds in the sky… poetic image so simple and amazing.
Thanks Isa, I love how simplicity can be so intriguing – I wonder how many men looked through the wire at that spot and dreamed of being on the other side of the wall.

Isn’t it strange how something that has such an ugly purpose can look so innocent and pretty. Fab shot!
Thankyou, I enjoy finding art in everything – including something as old, sharp and nasy as this.
