The Wombat is found in South-Eastern areas of Australia and in Tasmania, in forrest, mountain and heathland areas. Wombats dig large cavernous underground burrows with powerful claws and their teeth. Usually nocturnal, wombats will venture out during overcast and cool days, they are not commonly seen out and about. Wombats are herbivores, eating grasses, sedges, herbs, bark and roots. They have rodent like front teeth perfect for gnawing through tough vegetation as well as tunneling.

What a beautiful little creature!
The surprising thing is that these aren’t little creatures – they can get as big as 120cm long and weigh over 30 kgs!

Hey Amanda…your wombat and mine could very well be twins!
They could well be Cheryl, at least cousins I would think!
