Cheetah

The Cheetah is the fastest of all land animals reaching a speed of up to 120 kph and can accelerate from 0 – 110 in three seconds.
Cheetahs can weigh between 40 – 65 kgs and is uaually between 115 – 135 cms long from head to the base of the tail. Unlike the other big cats, the cheetah can purr but can’t roar.
The cheetah is classified as vulnerable due to it’s inability to adapt well in new environments, it has also failed to breed well in captivity. Once hunted widely for it’s fur, the Cheetah is now threatened by loss of habitat and prey.
Cheetah are carnivores, hunting mammals under 40kgs such as Springbock, Impala and young Zebras and Wilderbeasts. They hunt in big groups.

    Beautiful capture Amanda.

The Cheetah is the most beautiful of all the big cats, imo.
