Perth Residents Beware of Animal Pictures
Here is a copy of a bubblemail I recieved from Perth Zoo, I am pissed off that as a tax paying local who visits the zoo regularly (more money), I have to ask permission to use the zoo animals in any photos I wish to publicly display. The money raised through calendar sales would be donated to the zoo anyway – what happened to the days where profiteering wasn’t put first. You canR…
Home Page
Oh my God – I made the home page with My Dad’s Yard – 4.

I only dropped in for a second and now am going to fly for the rest of the day!
First Bushfire of the Year
Four days into the new year saw the first major bushfire in Perth for 2009. In the suburb of Brookdale (about 25 kms south of the city), 70 firefighters fought to bring the fire under control.
The firefighters, plus five helitacs and two fixed wing water bombers worked together to extinguish the flames which burned 82 hectares of bushland.
I won an ipod!
I have had the best few weeks – a nice Christmas with my family and friends (which we managed to spread over three days), a really fun new years camping in the bush next to a huge dam which we could go water skiing on, my Dad’s birthday which is always fun (pizza, wine, beer and scotch, all in small amounts of course, hic) and have come home to a message from a facebook group to tell …
Our Boxing Day Baby
After the rush that was the build up to Christmas and then the 5am wake up on Christmas day (the kids found their santa sacks far to early), I was looking forward to a sleep in on Boxing Day. This didn’t happen.
Instead we woke up to find our little girl Bella giving birth – in our bed. We knew she was expecting but didn’t think she was due for another week. Unfortunately, on…
My First Sale
I had to read the line in my overview a few times for it to sink in but it is true – I have sold some cards.
Katariina Lonnakko has purchased two cards of my photo Did You Say Something.
Thankyou Katariina, I really appreciate it. I am now going to dance around the house a little bit and continue making dinner.
Competition Win
My daughter and myself recently entered the Kelmscott Show photographic competition. We drove, hopefully to the showgrounds yesterday afternoon hoping to find we had had some success and then had to wait for a frustrating hour before they would open up the hall.
Unfortunately, my daughter had no success with her work entered, even though she took some amazing photos – we thought that maybe…
Marion
I got a facebook message this morning from my cousin Dan Prettejohn who has just finished a song he wrote about our Grandad. The song has been written because he has been unwell for some time and Dan thought it was time to write down a bit of his story.
Please don’t take for granted your loved ones or the relationships you have with your partners, you never know how your action, or lack th…
Good Sports (until one wins a medal)
Each year, in schools across Australia (and no doubt the rest of the world), there arrives a day when kids get to colour their hair, draw on their shirts and have a day off of learning – the sports carnival.
Yesterday saw my kids sports carnival, it was a beautiful spring day and like the other parents, I grabbed my fold up chair, thermos flask, tea bags and camera and spent the day chearin…
