Storm over Sea

Storm over Sea by Amanda McLennan

Storm over Sea

Trying to get the sunset was impossible with the weather so I tried to capture the weather instead.

The following image was created by my friend Dennis Klau at the same time that mine was taken. I think it is amazing that people can see the same image in such different ways.

Storm over Sea belongs to the following groups:

Australian Landmarks and Icons, Green!, Landscape Photography, Lightning and Storms, PixElations - The Art of Photoshop, Vibrant and Vivid Color, WA Red Bubbles and Workshop Camera Club

Thankyou Darrell, I was unsure of it – probably because it’s darker (in colour and mood) than I have previously done. I will make sure and try others now.

Beautiful contrast in colours between the blue/green of the ocean, the blue of the clear sky trying to break through and the deep orange of the sunset on the horizon. They really stand out against the dark rocky shore and the angry grey/black clouds. Wonder how it would look if you could lighten the shore a fraction to get a bit more detail in the rocks.

Thanks for your comments, the rocks are dark but when I tried to lighten enough to see them, it looked out of place with the darker sky, unfortunately with that, you loose any features – six of one blah, blah blah…
Thankyou for checking out my work and comments are always welcome. How else will I learn!

I tend to think that stormy skies make for a far more interesting photo than pure sunsets, which often don’t recapture the magic of being there. So, I really like this one!

Thanks Steve, I appreciate your comment – I couldn’t agree with you more, most sunset photos I take look pretty much the same as each other, the colours just vary a bit.
