Shattering Sadness: Raw Emotion & Paint Collide by

Shattering Sadness
It’s the kind of sad that no amount of time can ever heal
Leaves you shaking and breathless,no choice but to just feel

It’s the moment that grabs you right by the heart
Shattered and broken your world falls apart

It’s the instant your kid sister draws her last breath
And you surrender to the anguish, it’s all that is left

It’s a phone call in December that buckles your knees
Your beautiful friend has suddenly, tragically taken her leave

You grieve and move forward, you learn how to deal
But these are the wounds that time just can’t heal

Amanda, this is a very moving work. The painting and the poetry together. I feel very emotional myself and your words are very poignant. It is so very difficult to find peace, but you will find some sort of clarity through your work and it will assist you by providing some support to facilitate healing. You are a wonderful painter Amanda! Thinking of you and sending you a big healing hug!Sophie x

    how big are these?

  • The first few in the series were quite small, as they were more of a practice exercise, a warm-up for the series…this one is much larger and is done on canvas 24″×36″.
