This is my first novel. you can buy a pre release copy on the website : www.ihatecinderella.com

It is a joint effort with gorgeous illustrations by Jovan de Melo”:http://www.redbubble.com/people/jovandemelo ( who i met on Red Bubble)- here is the text from the back of the book. Please see the website www.ihatecinderella.com to reserve a copy. Due for release in December

Forget the fairytale. Make your own!

Who hasn’t had their heart broken?
Who hasn’t cried for days and been unable to eat, sleep or concentrate?
Who can honestly say they haven’t asked their best friend: “When will this pain stop?
When will I get over him?”

This book is for those girls, for all of us.
Those girls who let some guy into their heads and hearts, putting aside their own plans and ambitions, to later feel there is nothing left inside their heart anyway.

Lucy Summers is one of those girls. Three weeks after her heart has been broken, she travels for work, when the plane crashes halfway. She falls deep into the ocean where she is saved, as only a loving mother, a patient best friend and a healthy dose of chocolate could do, by a mermaid named Obelia.

Together they reignite Lucy’s passion for drawing and re-establish her sense of her self-worth.
Lucy learns that you have to know what you want to be able to get it!

This book will give you the tools to heal your heart, your head
and your sense of self.

‘A stunning debut novel that takes you far from here.’

‘A wonderful book for a broken heart.’

‘I hate Cinderella is inspiring, evocative and delightful.’

Yes, it seems a good dose of chocolate works. That`s why more hearts are mended in Belgium than in any other place in the world. But as the problem is worldwide, I so hope your book reaches a maximum number of hearts. Sounds like work from the heart. Cinderella`s probably divorced by now so she could no doubt do with a copy herself. Charming idea… you should do a link to Jovan`s illustrations to build up interest. Best of luck with the sales!!

Easy Peasy… al you gotta do is copy/paste this:

    “Jovan de Melo”: http://www.redbubble.com/people/jovandemelo

in place of where you put Jovan de Melo in your text. But very important…. remove the space I put in between the : and the http, and make sure there`s a space before and after what you paste, otherwise it won`t work. I`ll be checking back in a bit to make sure you`re OK…

illustration looks beautiful. I know I have at times railed against the steroetypes of fairy tales-but ’’hate is pretty extreme!

the irony is because as I was brought up to learn to live and be happy in my own right and I should do that without a man that my real dream of being with a lovng partner, for the right reasons, and having a family, was denied and unacknowledged for a long time.

Having a family and love should not be the only thing we aspire to -but it’s a pretty wonderful experience and I feel so glad I’ve embraced that part of me.

It’s a conflict of the age we live in-we had to fight for freedom to be more than mothers and wives-which is great but now we have to balance the desire to have both.

I don’t know if I’d want to teach my children to hate cinderella-why can’t we be happy that someone finds something good in their lives?

I haven’t read the whole story, so I’m sure there is goodness in it-and perhaps this tale is abut fniding otherways to ‘true’ happiness, such a balance between relationships.

Maybe these days children are taught to be too sassy to early. I’m feeling mislead by the title, when the story and illustrations look very sweet.

Hi Sunset, basically its a book about Forgetting the fairytale and to make your own, just a vibrant attention grabbing title to make you pay attention, please feel free to purchase a copy from the website www.ihatecinderella.com and i will post one out to you in December.
its a book about love and realizing you are enough, just you, and that when you are happy with yourself as you are you will find love.
    cheers Amanda
