Another one of the birds on my 2013 calendar. These beauties are only found in the far north of Australia in a area around the bottom of the Gulf of Carpentaria and the top end of WA encroaching on the NT. The background colour is from the out of focus reed beds growing on the banks of the Gregory River
I specialise in Photographing birds in their natural environment. To date I have photographed over 450 Australian species. If you like to view great bird shots please visit my site. I also like to photograph Landscape scenes but this is my second choice. I love nature and love to see and capture it when it is living free.

Many thanks Kerryn for your comment which is greatly appreciated. Yes that colour was caused by the reeds on the bank of the river
