Another Ripper of a shot Alwyn. where’s Malanda???
Hi Mate. Malanda is on the Atherton Tablelands on the top of the range west from Cairns. It is mainly agriculture and dairying. Thanks for the comment.
Sure has great colours Alwyn, they can be a bird with a cheeky disposition they will lead you on a merry dance, just stitting still till you almost have focus then bolt for the next tree, with a head turn as they go, you can almost hear the laughing nice sharp and clear capture, well done cheers Rick
Thanks Rick. You are right and they nearly always sit just behind a branch or twig. Thankfully this one ignored me.
They are a very beautiful bird, and yes a cheeky attitude. Beautiful song voice also! Friendly & a good socialiser with other little birds. We also have the Rufous Whistler in about the same numbers but are a little more shy. Great shot…. Anita
Thanks Anita. Up this way the Rufous Whistlers well outnumber the Golden Whistlers but the golden seem to like the high foliage and are probably harder to find. Yes they just seem to go about their business and do not worry about other birds.

( To help us tidy up the group it would be appreciated if you could remove as many of your older works as possible – Thanks Ray )
If you have already done this THANK YOU
Thanks Ray. Will do.

A great now Alwyn. When I try to photograph them there always seems to be a twig in the way. Well done Alwyn.
Many thanks Ian. This one seemed to ignore me. Besides it had just eaten a grub.
