Joffres Falls - Karijini NP - Western Australia.by Alwyn Simple
This photo needs to be viewed Larger.
Located in Karijini National Park in the Pilbara region of WA, Joffre Falls is a tall and attractive seasonal waterfall that tumbles into the rugged natural amphitheater of the red-cliffed Joffre Gorge.
Stunning overview of the gorge and falls. Wonderful detail of the strata and I love seeing how flat the top is. Sandy
Many thanks Sandy, you are a great supporter. You give wonderful comments which are greatly appreciated. Yes this rugged gorge must have taken many years to carve out of this rock. We call the inland area of Australia the Red Center and several of the places that I have visited reflect this, especially in the early morning and late afternoon light.

Beautiful capture Alwyn!:) Stunning!!
Many thanks Mary. The colours have come out in this shot better than I expected.
Another beautiful shot Alwyn. The colour of those cliffs is amazing.
Thanks Al. Yes I have given up midday photography unless it is overcast and bright with a lack of Shadow. It was reported in one article that I read that photographers that shoot in the middle of the day should be bashed over the head with their tripod. I now believe this statement to be true but without the aggression. I have been amazed by the colour and detail with early morning and late afternoon taken photographs.
I agree 100% with the article you mentioned. Middle of the day shots are out unless you are passing through and can’t wait all day for the late light, or the early morning.
Yes I know what you mean as well. I had to bend the rules at times. All the best Mate.
The falls are great & would have been amazing to see in the flesh, always better than a photo.. Colours again are beautiful !
