Reflections in Picininny Creek - Bungle Bungles. by

Picininny Creek is the watercourse that runs through the dome section of the Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park. It is on the Eastern side of the Kimberlies in Western Australia. This photo was taken at daybreak at one of the pools along the creek. Normally the creek is dry but due to the extended wet season this year, 2011, pools of water remain in the creek giving photographers a rare opportunity to capture the reflections in these pools.

The towering rocky domes of the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park have enchanted people with their majestic beauty since the beginning of time.

The beehive domes and rocks of the Bungle Bungle change colour as the sun progresses across the sky, from brown to red, orange and gold.

Beside the exquisite beauty of the domes and reflections, I love the streaks of vegetation growing the the strata creating green horizontal lines. You have a great sense of the best angle to capture your image. Sandy

  • Goodness Sandy I am going to have to ban you from my photos, I am getting such a swell head. Just joking. I really love your comments and I am very happy that you like my photos. Many thanks for your wonderful comments which are very much appreciated.
