This abstract reminded me of a magical world seen only by looking through The Keyhole… leaning down, squinting and beholding the inner workings on the other side.

This is a lower portion of my original painting called "Loving You*": the original is 15″×30″. The original painting was made using acrylic, beads, brass, liquid gold, wood, and ink.on traditional wrapped canvas.*

This is a picture of the original leaning against my couch. As you can see, my camera can’t catch all the colors in this piece. They are much more vibrant when scanned.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.

Have you ever seen photos or paintings of a lone guy in a gallery, sitting on a bench staring at an art work? That would be me in front of one your works. Your use of color and design languishes my soul in wonder. Gorgeous.

  • Ken, let me tell ya… I first saw your comment on my cell phone and couldn’t respond because I knew I wanted to really share something and not just say “thank you!” YOU MADE MY DAY! Yes… many times I’ve watched movies with scenes of people looking at art in galleries and secretly wished to myself that, one day, my work would be hanging in a gallery and someone would find it interesting enough to stare at it and absorb all I was trying to convey. Yep, (as I’ve done so many times myself) I’ve always wished someone would sneak a feel of one of my abstracts and ask themselves, “How’d she do that?” I do that all the time… I’ll see a painting full of color and texture… stand there asking over and over, “Ooooo weeee! How’d they do that?” So yes, Ken, when I read your comment about you looking at my work, I smiled the biggest smile; it set my day in motion with appreciation, energy, and much happiness. Thank you so very much!
