This is the finished painting (scanned portion).

When I finally wrapped my brain around this final painting, it reminded me of Usain Bolt and how I felt watching such a fantastic runner make history! The Summer Olympics were amazing!

This mixed media painting was made with acrylic ink, acrylic paint, and india ink on 9″ × 12″ Sennelier 300 lb watercolor paper.

What a mess I made with this one making this piece! OMGoodness!

Oh well, I turned it upside down and saw a stick person sprinting… go figure. This may get worked on some more… or I may toss it in a pile to be cut up for book marks or something. Ugh!

Stage 3:
I’ve added the 3rd layer of color and the final layer of texture… needless to say (as with most of my abstracts, I really can’t name them until I’m done because I never really know where I’ll end up. Today, it was rainy and damp here and my body ached so everything turned out to reflect that discomfort… or so I think. None of the names I chose for the original WIPs are working out. Ha! :)

Here’s the progression:
On second thought, the progression is too embarrassing at this point. :( They may all three get deleted. :)

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.
