I used to be afraid of taking risks
afraid of rejection ,
afraid of failure
maybe even afraid of success .
Then I listened to a cassette tape
by Jack Canfield
called “Self-Esteem and Peak Performance”
and Jack said FEAR is simply
F antasized E xperiences A ppearing R eal.
So, if I don’t focus on rejection
and if I don’t focus on failure…
if I don’t imagine being overwhelmed
by success beyond my capacity to handle,
then I have nothing to FEAR.
Today,
I am living in Foreign Territory
and loving every minute of
the unexpected surprises I experience
with each new day
and with each risk I take.

This mixed media collage was made using old book pages, dry wall tape, ribbon, acrylic ink, acrylic paint, and india ink on Sennelier 300 lb watercolor paper.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.
