This past March
was somewhat
of a roller-coaster ride
for a whole multitude of reasons…
I realized, though,
that God has already provided
everything I need
in this world…

This past March,
I was also able to see
a much bigger world
than the one I live in…
Some folks get stuck
in their own space…
and I may have been
ONE such woman…
one such mother
feeling a little off kilter…
Still living here
on the outskirts of Detroit
(where my only child was killed),
I realized I was accustomed to saying,
" I’m dealing with LIFE!"
(what I learned this past March is that),
I’m only dealing with
a few blocks
in one community
of one Country…
What became extremely clear to me is
there is just so much
than what I can see
surrounding me!
There are so many lives
that my life touches…
and I am so much more
than I know!

This is an abstract mixed media painting made using tissue paper, old book pages, Intense pencils, acrylic, and ink on Canson heavyweight watercolor paper.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.

Oh Yeah! …THIS one speaks volumes along with what you wrote. Sometimes, I just step outside my door, another whole world….comes rushig in. I rejoice at your enlarged vision, Ange.

  • Thank you, my dear friend! You know all about this… you do know me! :)

An Emotional, Evocative and Powerful painting….

  • Thanks so very much, Heather! This part of the year is truly a roller-coaster, but it gets better the more I paint and share my work here online. Hugs!

Love what you have written here. Life can be so tough and losing a child must be devestating. However it is inspiring to find a woman such as yourself who is prepared to go deep to own her pain. To then embrace and go even deeper to live life rather than just battle through it.

  • Thank you, Tony! I will be very honest, it was almost unbearable at first… I shut myself off from the world and ART (fueled by my strong beliefs and FAITH IN GOD) was my therapy. It took about 2 years before I started healing enough to be fully present in LIFE again. Your comment is such encouragement for me… I really appreciate you taking time to reach out to me. :)

Really, this is Magnificent! And it has always seemed that “seeing the light” during your life rather than at the very end…. Is the way to do it! YOU HAVE!

  • Wow… thank you so much, Ellen! You and I agree on that point! I really appreciate your comments! :)
