We’re on this journey called LIFE
but we don’t have to go it alone.

This is a mixed media collage made with layers and layers of various painted and handmade papers, old book pages, painted cloth, tissue, acrylic, and ink on Canson watercolor paper.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.

    Enjoying the colors here Angela

  • Thanks so much, my dear friend Donna! :) This is a time when I create EVERY DAY … and let whatever is inside out… no matter how it looks! It’s the only way I get through without breaking down into tears…. anniversary of son’s murder is March 4… since they never caught the guy, I experience a period of uneasiness (even subconsciously) during this first week of March and have to cling tightly to creative expression… I really appreciate all your comments on my work… but this one means even more… reaching out and connecting across the miles through our visual and written expressions and creativity really helps me! Hugs! :)

Very nice – I like the doorway effect I think you have conveyed the thought of leaving/looking outward to a journey – very nice composition

  • Thanks so much, Karen! Didn’t know where to take this so I held off for a few days and then it just hit me… glad you like it. Sorry for my delay in responding… stayed away from PC over the weekend… too emotional.

Now…HOW did I miss This one, Angela: this is So beautiful; Love the colors, especially the ones in the lower right…the warm light in the doorway near the bright violet….just delicious.
Yes, we DO NOT HAVE TO GO IT ALONE. Methinks we were Meant to be connected to one another…Everyone. We really ARE, anyway; we just don’t always Know it…..

  • Wow! I love this response to this piece. I rushed to share your thoughts with Mickey who shares one of the same StrenghtFinder strengths as I do: Connectedness! Thanks so much, Jacque! Hugs!
