flutter about…
I gaze at them
secretly wishing
for the same kind of
blissful freedom they exhibit
once their transformation is complete.
They are free
to flirt with the wind
and show off their beauty
in the warmth of the sun…
they give me a magical joy
and the energy to create…
without inhibition.
I just love butterflies!
This is a mixed media painting made with natural and colored walnut ink, acrylic paint/medium, and ink on Canson heavyweight (140 lb) watercolor paper.
I am a mixed-media artist who is equally at home with a wide range of techniques, including printing with commercially available and self-designed stamps, and a multitude of materials, including paint, ink, canvas, clay, paper, fabric, beads, wire, and wood. I’m also a poet, often working intuitively by weaving wisdom and experience into many of my art projects.
