Even though we’re on the brink of our first REAL snow storm here in Michigan, I’m having a mighty fine time envisioning my summer vacation out West in the Painted Desert and Red Rock Country (Arizona, USA)! :)

This is a corner of a larger painting on this theme.

Walnut ink, alcohol ink and acrylic on Strathmore Heavyweight watercolor paper.

I am a mixed-media artist who is equally at home with a wide range of techniques, including printing with commercially available and self-designed stamps, and a multitude of materials, including paint, ink, canvas, clay, paper, fabric, beads, wire, and wood. I’m also a poet, often working intuitively by weaving wisdom and experience into many of my art projects.

I think you have done a great capture of colours and “feel” of country in these Angela – shapes and symbols – everything works so well. PS found Alcohol ink – not much publishedsied here – as used for graffitti – just about kept under the counter at art supply stores – felt a little like a criminal asking for it ! :-)

  • Girl, I’m very experienced with them so I’m willing to share any info you need. /there’s a great a book on various techniques… got look for it though. This is another piece I did using mostly alcohol ink… it is very popular on FAA… people just seem to love it…. it’s called Floral Duet

Beautiful work and congrats on all the wonderful features.

  • Thanks so much, Alga! I must admit, I’m a little surprised by the response to this piece… you know how big the original is… this is just a mall corner. :) Thanks so much fro letting me use your scanner to capture its depth. :)
