Ok… here’s the real deal:
I was painting and using a piece of paper towel to dab excess paint and ink from the rice paper paintings I did earlier in the week. When I went to throw away the paper towel, I saw so much color and the vibrancy of this scrap just screamed at me… screamed so loudly that I couldn’t toss this… just couldn’t do it. So I tore the sheet in half and made two small paintings that I’ll probably use as backgrounds for collage later on.

This is a mixed media painting made with watercolor, metallic inks, and acrylic on paper towel.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.

    Great accidental creation…wow!

  • Thanks, my friend! It had so much color on it, I just had to keep it, ya know? A happy accident indeed!

So, I’m Glad you saw the potential in the ole’ paper towel! It has been said: ‘There are no accidents’; this…would illustrate That ‘saw.’ I…see in the lower blue, a figure that is having some ‘Hot Fun’….and then another one in red/magenta up higher, with its legs out between the bands of blue & black….OR….what Ever ….

  • Ok, cool! I see what you see! What a team we be! I know that is improper grammar, I was going for the rhyme. Ha! So glad you see the value in keeping this colorful paper towel! :)
