This piece was inspired by the following poem written by my niece :
Sassy, Spicy, Sultry, Hot!
I put my red dress on and
give it everything I’ve got.
Sexy, Sensual, Seductive, Fierce!
Emitting charm like a dagger looking for
the next one to pierce.
I move with grace by way of
Shimmy, Strut and Glide.
Wearing my red dress,
there’s no way for my aura to hide.
I can dance with my man
or do a performance for one…
I simply enter a room
and the party has begun!
I look good and feel better
with a nice bounce in my step…
it’s the red dress sizzle
with powers I simply accept!

This is a mixed media collage on clay panel. The panel was painted using ink, acrylic, and watercolor. The lady in red was drawn and painted on silk with ink and wax pastels.
I am a mixed-media artist who is equally at home with a wide range of techniques, including printing with commercially available and self-designed stamps, and a multitude of materials, including paint, ink, canvas, clay, paper, fabric, beads, wire, and wood. I’m also a poet, often working intuitively by weaving wisdom and experience into many of my art projects.
