All little girls love patent leather shoes… brand new Sunday Shoes!
This painting was inspired by a magazine picture and the resulting conversation a fellow artist, Alga Washington , and I had… she encouraged me to draw my perspective of the picture and then paint it because I was using the forbidden word (can’t) and saying my drawing skills weren’t up to par to try such a piece. What a surprise this turned out to be for me… Thank you, Alga Washington!

I am a mixed-media artist who is equally at home with a wide range of techniques, including printing with commercially available and self-designed stamps, and a multitude of materials, including paint, ink, canvas, clay, paper, fabric, beads, wire, and wood. I’m also a poet, often working intuitively by weaving wisdom and experience into many of my art projects.
