This one was a “real” labor of love for me… I tore the page from my sketch book on validation; printed a old picture of myself when I wore these really fine, thin braids on organza cloth and then hand painted the image to eliminate a goofy facial expression, and adorned it with paper clothes (which reminded me of when I was a kid and playing with paper dolls) – I collaged all the pieces the painting I started called “Love Songs” and made “I Sing LOVE Songs”… needless to say, this original will now remain in my private collection
The original collage is 18×24 – It speaks of the human need for validation… of happiness, communication, honesty, and LOVE. It’s a mixed media collage piece made from my painted fabrics and papers.
This is an 18″ × 24″ mixed media collage made from silk organza, torn journal pages, acrylic, watercolor, water soluble crayons, Crayola paint stixs, and ink on Canson 140lb watercolor paper
