This piece is in memory of my late father, Lorenzo Walker.

  • When he died,
    I clung to a bouquet
    of yellow roses.
    Even when they dried up,
    I saved them
    in a scrap book
    along with other memories
of the man I loved so much.

This is a very small treasure (ACEO 2.5 × 3.5) and is made with painted fabric (Shiva Oil Paints), beeswax, and pigmented wax on clay panel. It is an encaustic mixed media collage.

I’m an abstract-expressionist painter… a mixed media, encaustic, collage artist who uses a non-objective, emotive style of creative expression and visual messaging. I create to survive, to LIVE with more JOY and less pain. ART (plus faith in God) is what sustains me.

    Nice work!

  • I’m kinda new to Red Bubble so I don’t really know my way around the site yet… thank you for featuring my art in the Abstract art group! It means alot to me and inspires me to work harder.

Congratulations, impressive miniature, indeed a small treasure!

  • Thanx much… I started challenging myself to go smaller since I’m in a very limited space. So glad to know this works. :-)

This is so beautiful Angela…and a touching piece.Appears to me to be different than your usual work….

  • Hi my friend… underneath all those layers of wax is my usual art… when I added the beeswax and the pigmented wax, I went with the flow and feelings at that moment and thus the piece deviates a bit to reflect the love I had for my father (who, unfortunately, lived the conflicted life of an alcoholic for much of his time on this earth). Thanks so much for commenting on this one… it is a special piece to me.
