BEST VIEWED LARGER

There is a wall on the campuses of the Claremont Colleges here in my hometown of Claremont, California that allows students free range to express themselves through graffito. I visit sporadically to see what I can capture before it’s painted over and lost forever.

Apparently, April was the month they celebrated Gay diversity, as there was a part of the wall painted with the word “Gaypril”. I saw this and had to shoot it.

It conveys unity within the Gay community, but I see this as a message that we are ALL family; we’re all in this journey together, and if we were all to take a moment to step back and examine ourselves, we would see that we all have much more in common than we have different. If we could celebrate the differences and LEARN FROM THEM, well then perhaps we wouldn’t have so much strife in the world.

This image is dedicated to all my friends and family – of every race, religion, orientation, etc – around the world
