You could hear the whispers from the past on the cool, brisk desert breeze that blew through this compound of abandoned houses in the Mojave desert outside Lancaster, California. The silence was broken only by the sound of the breeze and the whispers carried on it . . .

Love this perfect that chair looks sitting there, I would be leaning on that to peek inside :) wonderful words to go along with this image.

  • Many thanks, Kim! You crossed my mind when I stumbled across this. You’d have loved the place! Just wait – there’s more to come! I actually trespassed shortly after dawn on Sunday morning to creep around this compound!

I have NEVER stepped foot on private property to take photos without previous permission. I felt so sneaky and dirty for being such a bad boy!! LOL!!

  • This place was a 20 minute drive from the edge of town. There’s nothing around except for a single residence not far from the gate of the compound. I was sure I could be seen, 25 feet tall in spotlights from circling helicopters and barking dogs! It felt so weird! LOL!!
