Twenty One Questions

If you had the power to forget me
Would you exercise your strength?

If all I did was distract you
Would you walk me to the plank?

If only love were a conscious choice
Would you choose the other road?

If you could turn back time
Would you change all that we have known?

If you had eyes to see the future
Would that affect the present?

If we had to be alone together
Would that make you hesitant?

If the entire world was against us
Would you leave me out to rot?

If we were to never speak again
Would I ever cross your thoughts?

If you could love another
Would you perhaps give it a shot?

If I were to die tomorrow
Would you shed a tear for all that was not?

If I were to move across the ocean
Would you come to say goodbye?

If we could never be together
Would you laugh or would you cry?

If the world were to end tomorrow
Would you want me by your side?

If I asked you a difficult question
Would you ever tell a lie?

If this was only the beginning
Would you have the strength to persist?

If my words made you think
Would you pretend they didn’t exist?

If nothing in the world was as it appeared to be
Would you take the time to look for what was buried underneath?

If I was turned to air
Would you gladly breathe?

If you were the only person I could turn to
Would you turn me away?

If I wanted nothing more but to leave
Would you beg for me to stay?

Now if all these questions are foolish
And they very well could be,
Did any of them show you
How you truly feel for me?

Twenty One Questions by

Man.. This was so out of left field.. You don’t even know. Everyone has questions that they’d love to ask someone.. Questions that reveal the true nature of their feelings. The plight we face is that most of us cannot truly articulate these questions and worse still, even more of us do not want to ask them.

loving this one, this had gotta be my new favorite one out of your new poems.
theres definitively some questions in this poem that i would have loved to ask people but was scared too,
maybe thats why i like this poem so much. lol. amazing job once again darling!

  • Lol. Thanks a lot. This was such an intense write.. Like.. Just wow. The beauty of questions that are difficult to answer is that they make you search your entire being for the truth. And when you finally have it, there’s another logical question that arises. Why?

  • Thank you very much! =) I just had so many questions on my heart that I was dying to ask. So, what better way to get them off my chest than a poem? Haha. Thanks again. Glad you liked it. =)

I don’t think there is ever an end to the questions one wants to ask.
    Beautiful written.

  • Haha. How right you are. I had a heck of a time narrowing it down to twenty one, that’s for sure. This poem is written about/for a fellow bubbler and kind of a throwback to a game we played when we first met to get to know eachother that goes by the same name. But I this poem could’ve gone on forever. Thank you so much for your time and feedback. God bless you.

Gotta love left field! …This just cuts right to the core. No wonder they featured you :P I love how you can reach in and find what you’re looking for though. Ahh communication. That gets you places :>

  • Lol. The best things normally come out of left field, in my experiences anyways. ;-) You’re awesome. Just had to say that. But this definitely gets right to the bottom of things. It’s hectic! 0_o Thank The Lord for giving me the gift of communication or I’d be really screwed. Our words are so powerful aren’t they? Language doesn’t really have any limitations, besides our human minds I suppose. Haha. Thank you for everything. Really. God bless you. <3
