“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
Hey everyone! Hope your new years celebration was safe and enjoyable! And hopefully the new year has been treating you all well thus far! This particular entry is about the enemies that harass us and stalk us, tempt us and watch us on a day by day, moment by moment basis. They are all around us, whether we choose to acknowledge them or not. They endlessly search through the body of Christ and prey upon those who are struggling with faith, hope and love. They keep a diligent eye on all of God’s children to find those who are isolated from their brethren so that they may divide them from He who is Sovereign over all things in Heaven and Earth. Truly, that is what the enemy wishes more than anything else. Division. Division in the Body of Christ and division between us and our Lord and Saviour. For alone and apart from our God we are weak and powerless against the schemes of the enemy. And woe, our enemies have many schemes. They will try to trick us into believing that Our God is not good, that He does not care for us, does not pay any heed to our thoughts and feelings and that His word is not trustworthy and true. Oh Satan, you’re such a poor liar. They will play upon all of our fears and insecurities, all our anxieties and worries. They will attack us where and when we are least expecting it. They will use anything and everything that we love against us. They will never give up. Where does it end? It ends when we refuse to give the enemy any power over us, when we refuse to hear and entertain their lies. It will end when instead of trying to fight the enemy head on, - like we always do - we do exactly what they don’t want us to do. It ends when we retreat into the presence of The King of Kings, Lord of Lords, The Holy One of Israel, The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ. For in His Holy presence the enemy is rendered powerless, completely and utterly powerless. Oh, how the tables have turned Now, I say this because I have come to know from experience that the enemy is far more persistent and far more clever than I have given them credit for. But I know that I am never alone. My God is with me. My brethren surround me. And if God is for us who then can be against us? I say, no one.
