The Man Tried, The Man Cried, The Man Died by

This is a serial tile piece.

The idea is that you read this set of images almost as you would read a set of three lines of prose – except that the horizontal and vertical are interchangeable.

Imagine taking the sentence, “The man tried.”
and changing the last word to “cried.”
It still fits, it still makes sense, but it has a whole new meaning. And when you change the last word to “died,” it gets even more interesting.

That’s essentially what I’m trying to do here. A series of 3 tryptichs, except that you don’t have to just read them horizontally. You can read them vertically, diagonally, or interchange the images around it to get a whole new meaning?

Catch my drift?

Tell me what you think, and if you think this concept works for you here, or if it needs more development.
