Everyone has a child within waiting to be loved and cared for , Do you remember yours ?

THE CHiLD WITHIN

Here I am a little boy
Amazement and wonder at every toy
I have grown into a man
The wonder lost was not my plan
How can I recapture a glimpse of me
I want to find the child that used to be
I have wandered from the path
And have caused the Creator’s wrath
I’ve turned into a man of need
Being rich and full of greed
The little boy that is pictured here
Was filled with love beyond compare
When did I turn my back
And begin to lack
The sweet embrace of my soul
Now I am growing old
I feel wretched and ashamed
And I am the only one to blame
As I look into the child’s face
I want to return to grace
To have the purity of my heart
And to never depart
To the man I have become
I have to turn and run
I have committed so many sins
I must reach for THE CHILD WITHIN
